A Patch Of Blue

Today I search a patch of blue,
another storm is passing through.
I need to find that quiet place,
to forget your sweet embrace.

I need to get past all this pain,
feel the sunshine once again.
Our happiness was not to be,
my broken heart sets you free.

Loving one who does not care,
brings on heartache and despair.
Broken spirit, soul withers,dies,
when words of love are but lies.

You start to wish you were dead,
oh what thoughts fill the head.
When true colors finally show,
a side of you I did not know.

Need to find that babbling brook,
seek relief from love you took.
Another storm is passing through,
today I search a patch of blue.

When love is stolen or given freely and then abused, it is always difficult to come to terms with. Searching for that patch of blue is a quest I feel we all have journeyed upon. Lovely flow, imagery and a very heartfelt piece you have penned!
    Beautiful!
Thank you so very much for entering!!!

    EVER SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Even though this is so sad one can see it is straight from your heart. Rainy days sure do bring out the hurt and sorrow that is in ones heart. Keep searching for the blue for it is there.

    All colors...

Searching for "a patch of blue" is a great way to say clear skies, happiness and calm. The next to last verse was a bit of cloudiness and thunder, hinting at their true colors and showing a flash of your own! You pick up and carry your theme forward at the end, which assures me that you WILL find the calm and sunshine again.
Excellent write on the aftermath of a stormy break-up!

There will be no solace found, yet these words I leave for you. Even in love people can change course. Words once spoken from heart become words of regret. Festering inside until the need to escape is all that permeates the air. Unfortunately, relationships tend to only grow stale on one side of the coin, while the other still smiles.
That aside, this was a very beautifully penned piece, and I do pray that upon your search of the skies you find your patch of blue.

Another very fine write. Imagery, rhythm and rhyme are just fine. I hope you have a good day. Your title reminded me that there may have been a movie with the same title. Here's a link to it:

very nicely crafted with carefully chosen rhyme scheme. I can feel the lamentation in the words shared here. In this line "to forget your aweet embrace." I think you meant "sweet".
