a Saturday dawned bright in middle June;
a perfect day it turned out weatherwise.
a day for family to socialize
Our fam'ly too enjoyed this summer boon
in winter; but for her it ended soon -
our careless laughter soon turned into cries
of sorrow for my mom's sudden demise -
her life left through a tide of dark maroon,
until she was no more; her whole life spent.
her soul gi'en up to God's eternal care;
And on her bed remained her earthly tent,
now empty, broken down, beyond repair.
That night so cold and dark the Lord had sent
an angel to collect his Kingdom's heir.

Outstanding
This is such a sad poem and is written from the depths of your heart with so much love. I liked how you described the angel lifting her to heaven at the end of the poem. This is a brave poem that must have been very difficult to write.

wow...
just....wow....
I am "so" sorry for your loss...beyond comparison as it may be, my uncle died from suicide last month..
and so i feel the undeniable pain bleed off of this page...
Thank you for the entry..
And the best of luck to you.
