arithmetic of love

You think arithmetic is about numbers
That is not true
It's more than that
It's how I feel for you

My heart is but one
Then I add you
Next I add your kindness
And then my feelings too

Pretty soon we become numbers
Of unconditional love
Springing forth in equations
Of numbers yet to come

Author notes

In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing.

Nicely done. A sweet and tender write about the math of loving someone. I especially like the final stanza and the phrase "spring forth in equations"
    Thank you for your entry.
