My world was oh so perfect
The sun shone in the night
He gave me a new hope
And made me feel all right
We're walking hand in hand
And I turn, kiss him goodbye
I turn to run to class
But a thought crosses my mind
I run to catch him first
Before the two of us are late
Now what's this? It's that girl
That one I've grown to hate
She's talking to him softly
She whispers in his ear
He bends down low to kiss her
And my eyes soon fill with tears
He barely sees me staring
And in panic says my name
As I run he's caught my wrist
And in his eyes I see no shame
I ask him if he loves me
He says, "I do, I swear"
So I scream atop my lungs
"I saw you kiss her there!"
He lets me go as I ran crying
It feels as if my heart could tear
But I didn't watch my steps
And I - I fell down the stairs
Now I'm lying in a stretcher
And he's crying at my side
Though on the outside I seem broken
On the inside I have died
