between here and there (bronze trophy)

somewhere
in the breezes that blow
between here and there
you will feel me as I softly touch your face,
hear me as I wish you safely home

and as you linger
where memories touch your soul
perhaps you’ll remember
our own memories
cultivated with friendship

born of good times and sad
when only our love saw us through
the darkest of nights
held us close, kept us warm
playfully reminded us of our faith

when you return
with new memories to share
new friends and old to embrace
we’ll once again laugh and cry together
knowing we were never really apart

    Dee, so beautifully expressed.
You have a gift for taking
    a commonly shared experience
    and transforming the feeling
to a written piece of art.

    Hello Catz.

This is a wonderful poem, and a very touching tribute to whoever you were thinking of when you wrote it. Not only that it shows the soul of the writer as well. There are those very very few friendships, that continue where they left off without a jump, for the groove made in each other's life is one that was made by a person at their most natural. Wonderfully touching poem.

    My regards.

My goodness, this coincides with my new piece.
This was ever so heart warming and very well written.
This piece had such a feel to it.
A warmth that was so genuine it could have only come from a poets heart.
To be parted from all the good that one person could bring..one person effects so many lives.
The memories and grandness of a special someone ....
this piece emphasises that it can sustain us through their absence or even a life time.
You have the heart of a true writer and im so glad i found your work.
    It made me feel,
    so it is Art.

    MANY MANY BLESSINGS,
    LOWELL POE

Thank you again for another wonderful comment, Lowell. The lady this was written for is a most gracious and sweet person. I intend to get to know her better, too.

I'm glad this touched you even in some small way. I think we have a mutual admiration going here... as I love what I've read of yours and will be reading more

Ah, I didn't know she was going anywhere. I learn a lot by reading.

It's a wonderful toast to friendship and to its permanence. Distance is no object to those who make a connection.

I'm going to the kitchen to get me a Moxie, wish me luck!

Silliness aside, it's a beautiful poem written by a nice lady for a nice lady.

Parting is such sweet sorrow...... As ol' Bill put it and he aint far from wrong. My favorite parting of spliting up is the getting back together again. Your poem was sheer delight to read and to have embrace me in a pair of warm, loving arms. Good luck in the contest.

    Sincerely,
    Leo Long
