Oh Mama
I watched you take your last breath,
I held your hand so tight
and I watched you close your eyes
Oh Mama
your boy cries for you.
he remembers all you’ve done
you are my rising sun
Oh Mama
God I love you,
you are my nature
you’re all that is true
Oh Mama
I shake as a man,
Now you are gone
I’ll do the best I can
Oh Mama
can you see me now,
do I make you proud
and you know it and how
Oh Mama
I carry you in my pocket,
your always with me
you are like a rocket.

This is such a touching poem, Karl. I remember when mo own Mamma passed away unexpectedly. I felt much the same as in your poem.
You've written a poignant, loving poem.
Good luck in the contest
