Love slipped away
danced before my eyes,
drift away into dreams
flash across the sky
You were the one
that took me by the hand,
showed me all your loving
that only I could understand
Baby sighs so sweet
as I whisper in her ear,
all the loving words
that she longs to hear
I cry in vain
for the love I have lost,
Lord at what a cost
It’s driving me insane
Click without a clack
a life unfulfilled,
that slowly sinks away
into this worldly crack
And so the story goes
melts from my mind,
this burning of passion
laced with loving compassion
Theaters of my mind
play upon the play,
I figure out a way
to make it all mine
