Am *I* not important enough to be with?
Am *I* someone you can ditch so easily,
even though you told me that I'm your best friend,
and that is suppose to mean more than *you*
make it out to be.
You hardly talk to me
you're always "busy."
Making up excuses
while he's always there.
Why can't you make time for me,
like you do for him?
Seeing you once a month
isn't enough for me.
If you want to be a friend,
be there for me, anytime.
I'm so tired, of being someone
that you go to, just to get out of your house.
I need to get out of mine too,
would it hurt you to invite me over every once in awhile?
To catch up, to spend time together?
I *need* a friend.

i love the poem and the way it is worded but true friendship never dies. sometimes it will wane and falter as our focus has to change through life but if it is a special and true friendship it will never ever die.
The poem is very well written and very passionate so well done.

You know what this hit home for me it really did on some many levels. I loved that this was so relateable and you go on with bad self lol. I'm not very good at poetry myself, but I love to come on this site and see refreshing work like this absolutely spectacular. I have a way of reading good poetry more then I have a way of writing it. Its a gift I guess lol. Keep up the great write and I will keep on checking out your poetry.

I have had those friends that I was always there for but they never had the time when I was the needy one. i like how you made this into a poem without sounding cliche. Very nice. thanks for sharing

Yeah, it seems to happen to me a lot. but now they're broken up and they still hang out and i'm still left out and she thinks that I don't understand that she's a mom before everything but i do and she needs to understand being a friend comes with responibility and hiding behind your child is just wrong.. I don't have many friends either, and she was suppose to be my best friend, but i'm not sure how long that's going to last, i'm just lucky enough that I have another good friend who's there for me a lot more than she ever as :]
