called softly to the table
hot coco waiting at each of our places
large, black mug at mine
gently perched on my chair
i think i know what's coming
how i wish it wasn't true
words form on your tounge
"today...."
heavy sobs pound my body
uncontrollable heaves
tears flood my eyes
my voice cracks as i try to speak
you let the words roll off your tounge
the sad news floods my brain
overflows my mind
only the tears make sense
soaking my sleves
pouring off my face
nothing makes sense but
the
tears

Thank you for following the rules!
Such a sad moment =[ and definitely a unique moment to this contest. I loved how you were able to give visual and emotional description at the same time, with the crying. Honestly, I don't think the ending was very strong, but it held the hopelessness one would feel in such a situation =]. Good luck!
I'm really sorry about your loss
thank you for sharing your feelings so beautifully
