I'm a dreamer,
with goals and ambitions,
sentenced to a life of my desire.
To thrust control of my existance,
in to the hands of another,
a foolish mistake,
a waste of life.
I'm a dreamer,
living within my thoughts,
singing and writing my life away.
So if I fall and collide with my demons,
I shall smile and laugh in their faces.
I'm a dreamer,
So I Tell all the unfortunate spectators,
that they were wrong,
and I shall move on.
I'd rather live a life of failure,
than a life of success dictated by another.
I'm a dreamer,
I'm ever changing,
I flow like a river's currents.
Occasionally I change direction,
not afraid to say I was wrong.
Until the day that I shall die,
I'll keep singing my dreamer song.
Just "Dream on,
until your dreams come true."
Than perhaps salvation,
will come to you.
Author notes
First I must address the inspiration for this poem, which is quite obvious to all my classic rockers. I was listening to Dream On by Aerosmith when I received word of this contest. Due to this song and certain late events, this came out.
Hey, it's not the best poem ever, but it's "all I got."

I like the concepts of this. As soon as I saw the line with "Dream on" I heard that song in my head. Yeah, I know that one too.
