I love her and she loves me,
Forever and ever. Eternity.
Yet still the thread unwinds,
Meter by meter,
Inch by inch,
Until we’re left clinging
To that last single bond, that last single pinch,
And then snap! The string’s cut, it’s done,
And she knows I still love her
But now she’s gone.
