My Tomorrow

Clumsy, falling apart-
words slip from my lips,
feelings corrode my heart.
You sit there denying,
pushing me away.
All I wanted was to know
this could last forever;
Shot down
again.
And I go about my life,
picking up the pieces.
You come back sometimes,
display your uncaring
and I'm left with the wreckage
of a hope left unfulfilled.
Watching,
waiting,
as you fade into yesterday...
just to be my tomorrow
and forever after.

  • Very well written, the emotions are so real. I conect to this poem currently with some of the things in my life, so great job expressing those feelings. Also, I agree with Disturbed Prodigy, having love and concern for something can be painful and yet still a great gift to have.

  • a torture great to man is the existence of a heart, but it is also the greatest bliss, keep it flowing and congrads in the contest
