You left me, you walked out the door
You said you don't love me anymore
How is it then, that now as I lay here crying and broken
I love you even more then I did before?
My heart is shattered
But like how you can still see into a broken mirror
My heart can still love,
The fact that its damaged doesn't seem matter
In my broken state I can see things clearer
I can't live my life with having a broken heart as my fear
Some how I'll piece my heart together
And I will stop wishing you were here
I may be beaten and battered
But like how a broken window can be mended
My heart will not be forever shattered
And the shattered pieces I have now
Make up a whole heart together
And they will go on loving forever

This was really good. I love the story of it too, that even though you're hurt and broken, there's still hope, and you know one day you'll be ok.
Nice write, and goodluck in the contest
