Your Day

Searching down low
  looking on high
Casting my eyes
  up to the sky
Searching down low
  looking on high
Hoping to find
  Adonai

Soon, My Lord, come
soon you will come
you'll be coming for me

For such a long time
looking for a better life
I don't have to live
the way my fathers did
born in sin
Drinking in sin
to my body as a slave

Soon, My Lord, come
soon you will come
you'll be coming for me

The last day
how I pray
Take me away
how I pray
for that day

Looking for change
Looking for a better way
never thought that I could change so much
change my ways,
change those who surround me
now I've got brothers and sisters
to help me on my way

Soon, my Lord, Come
soon you will come
you'll be coming for me

Your day
the last day
how I pray
for that day
take me away
on that day

I've never felt so strong
as I sing your song
now nothings going wrong
won't you sing along

Your day...

I've never felt so strong
as I sing your song
Lord, you keep me strong
wash the wrong away

    One suggestion

Last line "wash away the wrong". I used to sing in the French Quarters, and I write lyrics. Just a suggestion... no offense please. Love it and can hear a melody too.

A good suggestion. Thanks. No offense taken. I'm not so arrogant as to think that everything I write should be graven in stone. Actually, this is very much a work in progress. The verses are gpoing to have to be completely reworked, as the melody of the tune has taken greater shape. Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated (as I am also going to be adding an additional verse...)
