Drowning, amid the roiling ocean of indifference and hostility,
an island stands, awaiting the one seeking refuge.
While drying tears of pain, the caress of love flutters gently,
urging the soul to attempt the impossible, despite wounds.
Breathing deeply, seeing beyond scars and broken dreams,
it is possible to risk all and grasp the promising ring of brass.
For without the hope and effort, what is our life
but a aimless quest for acceptance?

This poem speaks a lot of truth about our society in this day and age. It seems we all have to fight this battle and choose whether or not to follow the flock, or go our own way. I like how you wove this from the picture provided. Lovely work.
