Letter To My Father

Oh, Great One In The Sky
so blue is my heart
but grateful is my soul

For I am still here
living and breathing
though many years have passed
since my father died

I sit by my entry portals
gazing upon the skies so blue
though quite sad on this day
as many honor their fathers
on this earth
for I can just weep

but I choose to rise and walk
I am thankful that I am here
Oh, please, oh Great one...
please thank my father for me
that I am here today
to enjoy this life

The life filled with beauty
with all the lessons of life
all that I had to endure
that I am able to hold
my own children, for
these are such treasures
but he had to leave his own

Please tell him that I have
missed him all these years
but I am very grateful
for the life that he gave
for me to live to see

Please thank him for me,
and for you first and
foremost my Creator,
my source of life,
and I Thank you!!
with all of my heart
even with all my soul
my strength and might

Waters will always run
flowing through my soul
with ripples of sentiments
to the thankful little shores
