Swan Song

Missing image
Dance with me my
feathered friend
and I will sing a song,
of graceful birds
with wingspan wide
and plumage white and long.

Of regal grace to stop and stare,
with beady eye to care,
a gentle wink to lift the heart
and hope to carry on.

My feathered friend
has danced with me
through times I hate to share,
but never once has dropped my hand
and left me to despair.

With perfect words
of hope and love,
she tempts this poet on,
a lady tempered, kindly so,
as spiritual as a dove.

So dance with me my
feathered friend
and I will sing a song,
of friendship rare,
but given free,
by Swanee,calm and strong.

Thank you Darryl...I have changed the final line as it had a harsh note ( in my eyes) Great to see you again

"and I will sing a song,
    of friendship rare,
    but given free,
    by Swanee all night long."

Beautifully penned, Sweetie. (I gotta admit, though...when I read "all night long", it wasn't Lionel Richie I thought of, but AC/DC.) Ahhh, at least my weird humor remains intact. There may be Hope yet.

"a gentle wink to lift the heart
    and hope to carry on."

Good luck in Nicky's contest, my Friend. Swanee

You have filled this page with love for our sitting sage with a dance filled with rhythm and rhyme. Though my rhyming and timing might seem quite confusing, perchance, slightly amusing... yours m'Dear, is Completely Divine!

Please forgive my indulgence...I so Love rhyme!

Wanda will find this Wondrous, as I did!
Good Luck in the contest, Scribe
