a fatal trip

There's no room for erroor,
This mission needs completed.
So you trip to your past to fix your mistakes,
Saling through the sands of time.
Finding a world that you cannot believe,
For this time machine it lives to deceive.
Instead of going to a place that once was you,
You've arrived in a reality that's now become true.
Your family died as a world went to war,
The girlfriend you loved has become a whore.
And you are surroundded by the walls of a cell,
Taking a trip that has led you to hell.
You've been told many times that you shouldn't look back,
But it's true common sense that you indeed lack.
So what to do now as you're fading away,
your hope of salvation quickly turns to gray.
You sale once again through the sands of time,
maybe it's not too late.
You realize this was all but a dream,
Now you're more accepting of your fate.
Back in a place that you've learned to call home,
Indeed in this life shall you roam.
You know you cannot change your past.
A lesson that many neglect to learn,
"unfortunately" you had to learn this one fast.

Author notes

December was a month last year that sent my mind spiraling in to thought. Proabably one of my biggest poetry seasons ever. This was before my work went public, little did I know at the time that an outlet like this existed.
