Smiling:
Happy ending
For, though we're born wailing
Skeleton, bone and skull remain
Smiling

Lovely
As a grandma, my favorite part of the day is to see one of my grandbabies smiling, and yet they were wailing long before the smile finally came..but oh the joy of a smile,, and so true about the skull remaining with a smile..clever..I think the best yet! Of course by reading the other comments I see they don't have the morbid spirit I do
But I'm brilliant so what do they know??

now that's an ...
unusual way of looking at someone else's demise ... and by God you have not only written true to form but you've touched on the unmentionable at the local funeral parlour! eeeekkkkkk! Did I just say that? Good entry! joy

It is weird, as your category suggests. But I do like weird. It's a unique way of looking at the end, and if we feel it all ends here it's good to think that we are left smiling...egads, now I'm depressed.
Thanks for entering the contest.

For some reason i found this quite humorous, perhaps because it injects a bit of personality into the skeleton.
I'm no expert on the cinquain form, so ill trust you on that. I should really get around to writing in forms, but i'm just too lazy.
