Reflection Pool

I stayed there so still
Very tranquil…
Stationary, I let my heart feel
It did fill—then it ran over
I’ve been blessed, without a 4-leafed clover

Very tranquil…
I re-rooted myself
Under my Lord’s will
It wasn’t my cup running over—it’s this heart
God, I’m thankful for my re-start

Stationary, I let my heart feel
I asked the hard questions
Then sent my Lord the bill…
How does a black hole dilate?
How does an eye see upside-down or its muscles rotate?

It did fill—then it ran over
I perused my infantile vocabulary
And smiled because there’s a head above my shoulders
Working differently from my heart
A mercy, a little more than 1 foot apart

I’ve been blessed, without a 4-leafed clover
There’s an infinite universe under my skin
Under the universe’s skin, I’m a heart soldier
40 years ago, I clung in my mother’s womb (tranquil)
I stayed there so still

Thank very much for your gracious words and supportive feedback (as usual). Yes, from time-to-time I have realized that we meet those who reignite a flame (or many different flames) in us; then, it's pretty much up to us to either give credit where it's due or keep it moving. I usually prefer the former. So glad that you liked this piece.

    "I’ve been blessed, without a 4-leafed clover

    I re-rooted myself
    Under my Lord’s will"

When we let ourselves be 'still' and give our thoughts/feelings over to a spiritual place, it opens our connection, our hearts/minds to Him. It is in that still and peaceful place that we find God ... that we see and appreciate the abundant mercy and blessings He bestows on us each day. "Re-rooting" is an excellent way to describe what we must do if we lose our way ... when we must "re-start". This is a wonderfully uplifting write Poet! I'm glad I stopped by.

This comment is "wonderfully uplifting" too. This was very satisfying and encouraging. Thank you very much for this visit (I'm glad you stopped by too). I agree with your observations; it is almost 'customary' to miss the "abundant mercy and blessings He bestows on us each day" in our day-to-day grind; grinding our teeth at what we don't realize we have...hmmm. Excellent reminder: In my 'Reflection Pool', I have to say that with all that I could want, I'm honestly glad to event to be able to 'just breathe'.

Thank you so very much. For these incredible words of gratitude (they buckle my knees...lol); for your wonderful kindness to me; your generous time spent reading from my pages and the well-thoughout words you use to express your feelings about something I've written. That's huge to me. So, it's the least I could do. I realize you've started several contests about this kind of subject-matter (If I'm not mistaken). I didn't ever wish to offend you by not entering. It's just that I don't really do contests very often (not because I haven't really ever won though...as true as it is). It's just that it doesn't really grab me...you know? So, I was intending on entering this in a contest of yours but changed my mind and did this instead...so thanks for reading this 'book-lenght' comment (lol).
