You're beautiful baby
But full to the brim with pain
I'm sorry that I'm not enough
If he ever bothered to listen
He would hear my answers
Hidden in the shoulder of his threadbare shirt
Somehow two years of travel
Were abandoned in two months of hitchhiking
From one skirt to another
Maybe he was cheating
He says I took one road
And he another
His lips spill stereotypes
Like those promises he could've never kept
He still insists I'm beautiful
I'm getting off my road
And bushwhacking
When you have no destination
It's just as legitimate to wander
From one untrodden path to the next
From one woman to the next
Tearing your clothes and skin
On any brambles you find along the way
It might be easier if I was full of pain
But for now I stalk through the jungle
Waiting to collapse of starvation
Author notes
I'd stare at the sun for you, allow myself to go blind, because your face is etched in my mind anyway. I used option 3--"You're beautiful baby, but full to the brim with pain, I'm sorry I'm not enough."

i really like where you took that especially the part about the brambles. I know the feeling. just feeling like nothing matters-like who cares if it hurts.
i'm totally getting strong vibes from this -
'It might be easier if I was full of pain
But for now I stalk through the jungle
Waiting to collapse of starvation'
I particulary love the use of stalk in the last stanza.
I really like how you used that quote as inspiration, thanks for entering
