My dad was a man of little means
But, for us he had such dreams
Growing up we knew are place
There wasn’t anything that went to waste
We had no phone, no car, no toys
But, he was there, he filled or life with simple joys
We lived a life one day at a time
We did what we had to; we towed the line
It’s been ten year since he’s been gone
And, its make wonder me how we got along
I have my own kids now and yes, I see
All the things, my dad taught me

Lovely tribute!
A beautiful poem about your father who gave you the most important things--the intangible lessons in love and integrity. I really like your final two lines where you recognize all that your Dad taught you now that you have your own kids. Congratulations on the Gold!

Your dad must have been a great man! I know, my dad is just like that. You honor him so well with your poem!

Aww, this is a lovely dedication to your father, all right since the lines written here made me feel that significant emotion, too

Happy Father's Day and good luck in the contest!

I love the rhythm of the piece from start to finish. It is a beautiful tribute to your Father. I was just talking about this to my father. I think Fathers do the best they can with what they have. Although some may not believe that toy will bring all the happiness, and there is greater joy just being together.
Beautiful write! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks for entering the "Father's Day" Contest ~ It was my pleasure in having you here...
Best of luck to you,
