Changes beyond Contol

We watched in horror that beautiful fall day as grayness filled the air.

Out of the grayness many walked with inbelievable fear filling eys and  shock shown from the core of their being.

The president on a tour to fufil the words from his campaign.

He was reading a book to small children to spotlight the needs of our youth.

I remember the deathly pale pallor that crossed his face as he learned an attack had come upon our shores and killed so many that day.

Can you imagine the terror struck in his heart, the sinking in the pit of his stomach and the weakness that filled his knees?

The racing thoughts of what to do as these sweet innocent eyes stared on.

Finish this book or cause chaos and  that would follow them all of their days.

What would be your decision?

All of the plans and promises now such small matters compared to the safety of the American people and the burdens placed on his shoulders.

Our ememies saw in him weakness because he had campaigned to put American first.

His enemies taking this chance to place politics above the fate of our nation.

Placing on  him the first of ideas as if he had thought these up from thin air.

Conviently forgetting the same song sung by Presidents and government of opposition before based on the same information given them.

Immediatelly refusing to receive a hand held out in help to come together to save us all no matter policy or creed.

These selfish men and women wanting only to punish him for circumsatances beyond his contol.

They refused the state wide count and cherry picked but a few and created the circumstances that had pushed this man to the top.

A party unable to lose with grace and work for our contries whole.

Leaving this man alone on top to make his decisions without their help so they could critize from thier armchairs.

Love or hate him,  he used all the information sent him.  CIA, Britain, past Presidents and present congress and senators that had voiced opinions while in the know of the same information all that he had been shown.

Each voice singing the same song.

He walked the garden outside his home and prayed for insight and guidanace.

The world set squarely on his shoulders and his decision to place equally on each soldier to save our freedom and life.

What would be your decision?

Should we be killed or fight for the freedoms we love and hold so dearly?

Now lofty Ideas spoken of "The Change" we so desparetly need.

Beautiful words so eloquently spoke to soar our spirits and reap the votes.

Looking back these long eight years, whether we agreed or not, his words not always lofty or spoken in eloquent terms, President Bush always talked in the words of "How" to get us from here to there.

For like the commercial it is the how that matters.

Are we Americans that can judge the facts for ourselves or are we simply mindless geese who have no memory of yesterday and must be lead anew each day in the direction "the rich and mighty few" want us to go.  The rich of the left reminding us that having money is a major sin and we have no skills to learn how to care for our own.  They in their benevolence will handle our money and their own.  We are but little children who on an allowance must be and we have no rights to climb any ladders of success for we will surely fail.  For this reason they must protect us.  For stupid we must be.

  • THANK YOU

I read this when you first posted it. Sorry for the delay in responding. I find it amazing that someone can write a piece like this, which celebrates the president and the American spirit, and get no responses, but if they write something bashing them both, everyone gleefully praises them and joins in the pessimistic chorus. I agree with liberals that these are sad times, but for a different reason - that it has been rendered uncool and naive to be patriotic and believe in your president. My friend Chuck has a theory I think holds a lot of weight - that liberal conspiracy theorists are usually drug users who have been paranoid for so long (in fear of being busted and booked with a felony for using illegal drugs, not to mention the paranoia-inducing effect drugs themselves have on users), that they are willing to believe any conspiracy theory about any authority figure. They spend years thinking, "Why can't they (the govt., local or national) just leave me alone and let me do my pot/coke/crack/heroin/meth/whatever? I'm not hurting anyone but myself." So the seed is sown for a general distrust of all things authoritarian.

Also, have you ever noticed that nobody develops conspiracy theories about people they like? i.e., "I really like __________, but I think he planned 9/11" or "I really think the world of ___________, but I think he's involved the UFO cover-up." lol They always attach evil motives and secret agendas to people they already don't like. It's my suspicious that liberals hate Republicans more than they love truth.

Anyway, nice work on this. Unfortunately, this defends President Bush, welcome and appreciated though it is, and I have to go give trophies to people who don't agree with what he did and suggested alternatives that I probably won't agree with, either. It's gonna hurt. lol Thanks for throwing this titan into the mix. The balance was much needed.
