~*~
O’ what a sense stirs the good night,
that calm which floats throughout.
A mystery befitting the ev’n flight;
this, a quiet song strung about.
~*~
The bracken-field calm in her slumber,
the musky-scent, an ardour sweet.
Wayward breezes roll in her thunder,
and softly speak her dreamy treat.
~*~
All the quiet trees lain in austere,
the hush among the grass becalms.
The townspeople’s humble frontier,
quietly resting ‘neath her lilting balm.
~*~
The starry-shade’s gentleness twinkles,
her lovesome-lights in soft repose.
And all the while amidst her sprinkles,
two hearts unite in her lovely doze.
~*~
As vernal as her new-borne spring,
caressing love’s sumptuous light,
Two make love ‘pon her ev’n wing;
lain adrift in her throng of delight.
~*~
‘Pon a loving psalm~
