A Nature Lesson

The sun shows the beauty of the flowers
a breeze shows the beauty of the trees,
the moonlight shows us the power of love
and the wind shows the power of the seas.

Stars help us navigate in darkness
clouds give us warning of the rains,
the oxygen allows us to breathe
and the earth gives us herbs to ease our pains.

A rainbow shows us how to look at colours
lightning shows us electricity,
thunder shows us how to create sound
and rivers show us pure tranquility.

This formula is produced by nature
and followed by everything alive,
except maybe for human beings
who think they alone should survive.

I liked the repetition in the first stanza and wonder if the idea could have been fed through the whole poem. Even without that there are some lovely ideas through this poem, well worth reading, thank-you for featuring.
  • Simply beautiful.
  • I like the flow of the poem and enjoyed the rhyme. The first three verses were very picturesque. I do not hold such a negative view on people. Perhaps it is because I live close to nature.
