Lullabye

The sounds offshore produce a rhapsody,
When far and long ago such noise was trite.
My dawn has passed as I await the night,
For rolling tides to send my soul to sea.

Beneath the pearls and diamonds of the sky,
No longer clinging to the waning light,
The ocean sings my final lullabye.

You handle rhyme and meter nicely, givin the poem a musicality and fluidity appropriate to its subject--image and language blend into meaning. Well done. Thank you for entering the contest.

Ahh, a poet, the stars and the sound of surf. What more could one ask for. Truly a beautiful piece. I loved the imagery in this delightful work. ~Pamela
