Walking away

I know its an everlasting flame
As I watch you walk away
Stuck inside this simple house
I know you have no shame

Every day, every night
I'm at my window watching you
Your daily habits, nightly routines
All I ever do is watch

Years go by, I see you change
Never once looking my way
Stuck inside this simple house
I know you have no shame

It's been awhile
Since you left
Since that fatefull day
At that time I had decided; I wouldn't let you walk away

As I came out, I saw you there
I saw you look my way
But you just walked past me: and I let you
I let you walk away

Letting someone go can be one of the hardest things you have to do in life.... This is a great poem that expresses the emotions well. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work

Thank you for entering my contest. It take great determination and strength of character to watch someone you still love walk away. If this came from your real life; i commend you. You have captured the emotions one would feel in this situation very well. I like that the poem has a structure. one line that confused me a bit was the " Stuck inside this simple house I know you have no shame"... ha i dont really understand but either way the poem was amazing. Nice write and good luck!

ouch! this hurt my heart in a big way!!! Such simple words, but such impact! Like a rock hitting a china vase...absolutely shattering.

    Thank you for sharing this,

    Luck.
