Don't comform
Don't follow the past
Open your eyes
And see for your self
Learn the joy
the rhythm
and the feel
Who's to say your wrong
or right
What's the meaning
Look with in your self
There you'll find
The passion
the power
the words
and the rhyme
They can't teach you
What isn't a lesson
You must learn
through your heart
Author notes
I'm not sure that this is what you where looking for but this is what I got from the movie the message that he was trying to teach his students...Poetry has no right or wrong all it has is passion and power expressed through words and rhyme...I hope you don't mind my said attempts at dirty pretty...but I think that The Dead Poets Society is a great story that if nothing else all poets need to read or at least watch, just to remind them that no matter what anyone else says their poetry is all that it needs to be as long as it means something to them....just my veiws

A beautiful write and yes, of course this totally fits the idea I had when I posted this contest. I like how you expressed the story's message in this poem, it was a joy to read and I especially like the last two lines. So true...
Thank you for entering my contest and sharing this with me!
Keep on writing!
Annie
