The JellyBean

I always blamed my parents for not getting any sleep that night
Giving me those stupid jellybeans, as if it were nothing!
There was always that one
  JUST ONE!
That no one wanted

I'm watching it now. Staring it down
Watching as it contorts and changes
I knew I was right in not eating it
I knew there was something fishy about the whole idea

Suppertime and out the window its chasing children
Gruesome as it is I cannot look away
Tearing the flesh, devouring it as if it were the children digging into the jellybean

Midnight and the jellybean, now dubbed "Mr.Jelly", is singing
That horrible noise!
Frank Sinatra of all things
At midnight none the less!
All I wanted was sleep! (was it to much to ask for?)
How dare my parents get me that jellybean (could this have been prevented if I had just eaten it?)

This madness stops now
Clawing, climbing, crawling my way out of bed
Down the street I follow that jellybean
Into the corner I stalk that jellybean
Horribly delicious, that jellybean tasted as I attacked the....thing

Finally, a moment of peace.

    this really drew me in and kept me. Very interesting story. At the end I think you meant horribly ... use your spell check and see

    P.S in our author notes if you're trying to do this:

    it's a colon and small o if you want to do this

    its a small o with an underscore then a uppercase O

    Over here in the U.K. "jelly's" are a name given to prescription drugs that can be converted for use by addicts to inject as a substitute heroin.

    i have a fear of the last of anything
    trays, spoons, food
    like if no one else wanted it, why should i?
    but then it drives me nuts just sitting there.
    and i think about throwing it out but i cant, that would be wasteful
    what do you do?
