Drove to your house
Tryin' not to cry
And I just couldn't bring myself
To do more than hide
So I sat alone
In my car across the street
Watched your shadows dancing on the drapes
The last thing on your mind was me
I could just imagine
What was goin' on in there
The lights down low and the music soft
His fingers runnin' through your hair
And in less time than it takes a tear to fall
My gun rang loud as thunder
As he walked out you door
Now I don't have to wonder anymore
I laughed, but you were cryin'
And then the sirens came
And when the flashing lights approached
I drove off the other way
And I don't quite know
Why things happened like they did
But I parked my Camaro
On that lonesome river bridge
I took my gun from the back seat
And loaded it one last time
Put the barrel to my temple
I pulled the trigger and I let her fly
And in less time than it takes a tear to fall
My last bullet left the chamber
Oh, and now I'm gone for sure
Oh, and I don't have to wonder anymore
Well, the angels sang like thunder
As my lifeless corpse went under
Now I don't have to wonder...
Anymore
