Patience was written
In her hair
From root to tip.
So might one
Paint in pointillism,
Dot by tiny dot--
Colors meaningless for months
Until the image
Appears.
In her hair,
Tiny white dots
Form a Turin-shroud image of
Murder.
Author notes
Prompt: Patience--not a virtue.
Death by potassium cyanide poisoning

The prompt for which this was entered makes me giggle just a little, because growing up I always heard the opposite.
Short but sweet, and it definantly creates a strong image in one's mind.
Thank you for sharing in the group reading list my dearie.

Excellent write. Great title. Love the evolving metaphor of pointillism, "dot by tiny dot--meaningless for months until the image appears" with the gradual incorporation of administered toxins into the body, even "from root to tip" of hair. Excellent response to the prompt!

Oh, wow.... fantastic! I needed the explaination but only due to less knowledge... I've never known a poem like this and its brilliant! Well done!!

It's a symptom that I have watched way too many episodes of Quincy, Crossing Jordan, Bones, and CSI: Miami. (g) Glad you enjoyed it!
