Dots

Patience was written
In her hair
From root to tip.
So might one
Paint in pointillism,
Dot by tiny dot--
Colors meaningless for months
Until the image
Appears.

In her hair,
Tiny white dots
Form a Turin-shroud image of
Murder.

Author notes

Prompt: Patience--not a virtue.

Death by potassium cyanide poisoning

The prompt for which this was entered makes me giggle just a little, because growing up I always heard the opposite. Short but sweet, and it definantly creates a strong image in one's mind. Thank you for sharing in the group reading list my dearie.

Excellent write. Great title. Love the evolving metaphor of pointillism, "dot by tiny dot--meaningless for months until the image appears" with the gradual incorporation of administered toxins into the body, even "from root to tip" of hair. Excellent response to the prompt!

It's a symptom that I have watched way too many episodes of Quincy, Crossing Jordan, Bones, and CSI: Miami. (g) Glad you enjoyed it!
