shout until the pain
in your chest
overcomes the pain in your heart
shout words that you swallowed
trying to make everything alright
with someone who was alright
with the things that made you hurt
in the first place.
Shout until you go numb
reminding yourself
of you
and that you are angry
and hurt
but will survive
Shout until you go numb
so the noise in your mouth
overcomes the noise
of the voices in your head
that tell you to go back
when there is nothing to return to.
Shout until you go numb
drawning out lies
memories
and hope
finally overcomng sleepless nights
with rest.
