This invokes a greater thought which a traditional haiku could not. The real purpose of Tanka as I understand it. I love this; its simplicity and hidden contemplation definitely appeals to me! Playful yet powerful image.

Good piece, can't help but wonder. After the bear cub enters its cave, will it still be the same playful cub that emerges, or an old wiser bear?

    Very enjoyable pic and words.

Hey, I just realized something. I was joking around about calling you Grizzly Adams from now on but if I called you Grizzly Baird, that would be darn close to "Grizzly Bear." Coincidence?? haha (Insert Twilight Zone music here.)

I guess the cub will wake up no longer a cub....

Great shot, amazing that you could get it. This is a sweet poem; I like how the line "pleasure in the setting sun" could refer to the bear's pleasure or yours. And the best part: the title!
