On the breeze

I look down on the snapshot.
the one she sent to me.
It overpowers my wandering mind,
with blessed memory.

Like something from a carnival,
such whimsical delight,
adrift upon the evening breeze,
festive rainbows bright.
Baubles, blinking in all shades,
Pleasant to each sense,
Touch the edges of my gaze,
steal my audience.

Sweet as caramel popcorn,
It subtly entices,
To cause, in me, a hunger
which nothing else suffices.

The picture fixed so in my mind,
memory, like a plea,
beautiful, elusive lady,
clothed in mystery.

Unforgotten, endearing voice
Echoes  through the mist,
memories of stolen kisses
cannot be dismissed.

That I might be with her,
To share these feelings, true,
In all the right poetic terms,
This I would surely do.

Elusive though, she might return
Or hear my thoughts somehow,
I’ll dream the dream, taste the breeze,
For blessings they endow.

This is beautiful and filled with motion and imagery. I see that the judge likes it so I expect to see a trophy on it.

    Love,
    Amera♥

The flow of the rhyme scheme is flawless and the simple imagery of remembered times with the elusive lady are delightful. A very pleasant read.
