The fire crackled
as she rocked in her chair
the wind blowing outside
he would soon be there
her memories danced
within the fire glow
as she waited patiently for her
true love to show
she remembered how
they had first met
the way they kissed
his warm caress
but then the memory
of that fateful day
plunged her into darkness
as her tears rained
travelling back to
see his true love
he had skidded on ice
lay, dying covered in blood
the only time
they had ever been apart
she had felt something was wrong
deep in her heart
on the outside the house lies
broken in disrepair
on the inside a warm
love still fills the air
as she waits for
her true love to call
for their laughter to
once again fill the halls
she closes her eyes
her memories turn to him
the clock strikes the hour
a gust of air brushes her skin
it's the same kiss
she has always known
for a short while her heart sings
smiling, she's no longer alone
their laughter echoing
within every room
holding his true love close
they dance to their favourite tunes
As the velvety night
gives way to the dawn
he takes her once again
tight, into his loving arms
'I'll love you forever' he whispered
kissing her lips
as he faded once again
into the morning mist
