Rise of A New Queen

Thrown into a foreign world
with no way home.
Branded different, an outsider,
from town to town you roam.

The guide has disappeared,
nowhere to be found.
All alone in this forest,
no animal makes a sound.

Chosen for a post,
you are not prepared,
Stricken with doubts,
think nobody cares.

New responsibilities,
problems unforeseen.
Put you on the throne,
told you were queen.

Trust yourself,
strength comes from inside.
Others will put you down,
with Justice, conspirators can't hide.

    100th Hood-Wink!

This is a lovely portrait of the Yoko I really like how you have written from her point of view as well as an outside point of view - congratulations on the gold - it was well deserved!

    Sweet!

Your fantasy style is going deeper. I have a much better sense of this character. I miss some physical description to picture her. But, I can see why it won you a gold. Well done, poetess.

I have never seen Twelve Kingdoms, but I can relate to the poem nonetheless. Your descriptions are beautiful and easy to understand. A person who has never even watched anime before can enjoy this poem because it's a story. Beautiful job! Good luck!

    Sincerely,

very nice. I would love to have a queen upon my throne, she could rule as long as she wants. Perhaps my queen for a day, at least? all the best in this contest.
