A candle flickers in the night
and in the darkness it gives
one small, ever-quivering light.
In the chapel, shining bright
amongst the many God forgives
a candle flickers in the night.
Glowing in the romantic twilight
In the face of love it lives -
one small, ever-quivering light.
In pitch darkness, gifting sight
to rituals and ghostly captives,
a candle flickers in the night.
Glaring from a pumpkin's bite
in the shifty eyes of dark motives -
one small, ever-quivering light.
But burning wicks exist in fright -
the long-lasting blackness outlives
a candle flickering in the night -
one small, ever-quivering light.
