sitting-out.

do we care that days curve
into shapeless shadows at night;

crawling around the house
as we walk in madness and shout?

no one probably notices.

all the while, they shadows
turn and spin; until all the love

is tumbled out and dry.

as reason sits through madness
and laughs grate against smiles

the world tumbles out of
thousand souls; and still we wait

counting statistic and algebra.
