My Best Friend

I vacationed for ten days,
missing my friends all the way.
Only to come back and find,
they had not had me in mind.

They decided to move on,
for reasons I still don't know.
Since then I've been kinda down,
not having anyone to hang around.

My best friend had left me for a guy,
while inside I cried and cried.
But then I went to Youth one night,
and this is what the speaker said.
"We all have stuff,
no one's bag is empty.
I'm here to tell you someone cares,
and He's sitting right beside you.
His name is Jesus Christ you see,
if you'll just pray this prayer with me..."

Now I have a best friend,
and He'll all I'll ever need.
He has paid the greatest price,
when He decided to sacrifice,
His life just for me.

Now I know that,
I'll never be alone.
He's always standing my by side,
waiting to take me home.
