This poem is for the girls,
who never get a date.
Who hope and long for "The One"
and who pray it's worth the wait.
This is for all the girls,
who are all alone.
who have nothing to do on Saturday night,
and no boy to call their own.
This is for the girls,
who are told that they're "just fine",
that they could get any guy at all
but who have to wait in line.
This is for the chicas,
who never get the guy.
But who are their friend's shoulders
when their boyfriends make them cry.
This is for the too curvy girls,
the too shy, too short, too tall.
The one's who can't catch an eye,
but who want that one boy to fall.
This is for the girls
who wait for some romance.
For a knight in shining armor
to give them a chance.
But this is for the girls
who wish and wait and sigh,
who see their knight from afar
and watch him just right by.
Into the arms of the other girls,
who kiss and wink and twitter.
Who are perfect in every way,
and leave the rest of us bitter.
This is for the single girls
who are tired of "single bliss"
who want someone's hands to hold,
and someone's lips to kiss.
This is for the awesome girls,
who won't just sit and cry
and mourn for the loss of that
blind, unappreciative guy,
So stand up all you single babes,
what's the big rush?
One day you'll be the winner,
and the boy will have the crush.
You'll be the one
with arms open wide
to hug the one who loves you
and you'll forget why you almost cried.
So this is for the single girls,
who cannot get a date.
But who know that when it finally comes...
it WILL be worth the wait.
Author notes
Yes, single bliss is actually a term I've heard.
Please tell me what you think.

I was single for the majority of my teenage years; I am now almost 22 and am in a long-term, monogamous relationship, though I have a perpetually-single friend who doesn't stop whining about his status, so I can still kinda relate to you here.
As for the poem itself, it was pretty good. Some of the rhyming felt a little forced in places, but I suppose that's the nature of the beast, as far as rhyming goes.
I do wish that people would stop seeing singledom as a curse, because it isn't. Understandably, it can be hard when everyone around you is coupled-up: I've been the single one in a room full of couples, and while it's not easy, it can be fun sometimes.
I love my boyfriend to death, but believe me, there are some days that I'd love to be able to do whatever I wanted without having to answer to anyone.
When you are meant to find love, you'll just sort of step in it; all the best, now & always.
Blessed be,
Laura, aka Immortal

I'm a single girl and this is speaking to me loud and clear! Great repetition and witty rhymes. Great job on this I thoroughly enjoyed it.
