A Hug A Kiss And A Rose

A hug to cheer you up,
A kiss to make you smile,
A rose to let you know,
I'm here all the while.

Another hug to feel you close,
Another kiss to show I care,
Another rose to let you know,
I'm wishing I was there.

So take these gifts to you I give,
And go about your day,
because I wanted you to know,
I love you in every way.

Looking at a friends contest I discovered a poem that I had written many years ago. Since it was one of my first attempts at a love poem I thought I would post it on here. This poem was rewritten June 8th 2008.

      I'm glad you enjoyed it. Its was just a simple little poem I wrote many years ago as a cheer me up for a friend. Eventually my feelings for her grew into an affection and when it did the poem grew with it.

    very sweet hun...could almost fit with my current pic lol. nicely done, i like that its not miles long, so even tho you and ur damn rhyme i likey cuz its not too long. its just sweet enuff in just the right amount of words

      I write alot of small little poems like this one. Both rhyme and freeverse but I rarely post them usually cause they are just passing thoughts that I send to whatever girlfriend I have at the time.

      I do believe this was my first real attempt at poetry after getting back from Iraq and finally having time to digest that my fiance hed left me (along with about 300 poems that were mostly better than anything i have written now). And with all of yall saying this Its making me think. I might as well contact hallmark and see if they would like it.
