If the Lord could tell me a story
I believe He'd speak of you
He'd tell me about your whole life
and everything you've been through.
All the tears, laughs, happiness, and trials
and for everybody you walked the extra mile
God would tell me how proud he is of you
and explain that you loved with all your heart too.
He'd wipe away my tears, and ask me not to cry
and tell me it's okay that I didn't get to say goodbye
because I'll meet you in heaven someday
and no longer shall I be in pain.
He tells me to be joyous for you,
you're in a happier place, it's true
away from all the stress of life
no longer will you endure hurt, pain, or strife.
Your soul was like a rock.
It was tossed in the river and floated downstream,
over a harsh cascading waterfall,
and into a peaceful pond.
Then many years later it followed the sun setting
in the blissful, peaceful ocean
and ended up in God's land
and she praised Him, as she did her entire life.
Upon us she will look down
our teardrops will be a thunderous sound
not in sadness, but to applaud her life
as the Lord wishes us to do.
And so here we are, we gather as one
united in one life, and in one God
Mary Lovejoy we shall love and miss you
and on our minds you will always be too.
You are now in God's hands, rest peacefully.
