In-distinguished in an ocean,
as largely laps
deeply welled behind eyes;
in occurrence personally sad
or hugely significant to all,
most often holds its sway
not to spill upon such call
to emotions roughshod over
on a lonely day.
In which clouds still roam as clouds
and still the sun shines on.
River-flowed time has hardened
my keep, while in test.
In the rain, in the rain!
In Your rain in our tears,
how do I kiss you?
How do I hold you?
How do I not associate
another with You?
So beautiful 'the rain' ,
tears
tears gathered
more tears along with the rest.
So strange that such a small thing
which enters by my back door,
brings the one
so quick seated on the throne
to cry, all to cry some more.
This question of fidelity,
failure, direction...
my love.
Is rain sent from the hearing of prayers?

I love the question, is rain sent from the hearing of prayers.
A summer rain is the true sense
That inspires beauty to grow
Profound faith is the true sense
That inspires a poet's holy essence

I am quite an emotional woman, and my tears do not always mean sadness. I am moved to tears quite often, sometimes a single tear, sometimes a torrential down pour...
It just means I feel...this is such wonderful work, I have not visited in a while, and I am not disappointed. Your words are a gift...and this is no exception.
"So beautiful 'the rain'"

What a beautiful piece this is ... you express yourself with an edge of rawness that belies the tenderness within and yet you make this accessible ... and we see a vulnerable soul. And we understand. Lovely work, Sol. Go outside ... enjoy the rain!

Beautiful, I am quite emotional now!

It occurs to me that our two poems, each read, are perhaps not so far from sharing the very same subject?
Thank you so much for your comment Debz.

Sol,
This is so lovely and heartfelt, and right now, perhaps I can relate more to tears comforting me than anything else, which is rather unusual for me, but thank you for putting this in such a beautiful form. You have such a gift!!! Best in the contest, friend!

It is amazing how much beauty, can even be found in sadness,
crying with the rain, to be dispossessed even into a joy!
Thank you for sharing my friend

...Upon reading this I felt a warm tear fall...a strange reaction perhaps and yet...comforting...so much emotion carried here but with warmth and caring...and the question asked at the end is one I too have held silently...thanks for 'saying' it aloud here...I wish you the very best in Prabhu's contest with this write...Peace, Rhonda

You know I think this is beautiful. You have made it far more so since your first draft.
However, don't write about it, DO IT!!

Sometimes it is so close, so close
still the rain does splendid work!

Well, you'd better come over here then, it's been POURING! I'm not interested in so, so close, I want to hear you sobbing uncontrollably.
It's good for you!

So heartfelt, so touching.. Sol..This brought me tears..
So strange that such a small thing
which enters by my back door,
brings the one
so quick seated on the throne
to cry, all to cry some more.
This question of fidelity,
failure, direction...
my love.
Don't know what else to say..
