I was ambushed
walking through the woods
the sun an amber shade
I didn't realise alas
their intention was assault.
It hurt like an arrow through the heart;
when I saw who it was.
My mouth felt dry
and ground felt like ash
as I was forced down.
I could help but wonder
did they plan to abduct me
or kill me.
It would be amuse me later to think
that someone I trusted so explicitly
would turn on me in quite this manner.
If I weren't feeling such anguish
at this betrayal.
The aroma of the trees
contrasted with the smell of my own blood.
I can accept now that
I was most surely mistaken.
You really can't trust anyone.
Author notes
Yes there are 10 words from the word bank in the poem if I knew my HTML coding well enough I'd highlight them all a different colour from the main text for you. But I can't so if you want me to point them out I will.

we always seem to be betrayed by those we find least likely, which hits us and hurts us the most. Well put into words though.

Yeah it really does suck; it's hard to understand whythey do it. I guess some people just don't need a reason. Thanks.
