Burning Bliss

And would the world enjoy my breath
With every depth did take
They’d forget my well-timed death
As the pieces fell
Mine self did shake

This oblivious time to burn did come
Whence their glances shone crystal
As stars shone in night long gone
Burning holes into self, temperamental.

And how I’d love to kiss those sweet lips,
Burning vermilion into the dark night.
Into my being, who’s heart skips at those very tips
And life matters not as our touch is bright.

When your branches touch my being
And those eyes stare into my soul
Those moments we see will not be told
Nor will the angels cease to sing.

My soul is lost within still pools
Of beauty whose name is lost
To the pages of time, and who’s countenance is
Cooled.

Standing upon a timely cliff
Who’s eyes stare into the night
Burning ever deeply, shining so bright,
With sandy glance upon the distant skiff

They cannot feel the beauty whose court does hold
Over my being, my soul my very heart.
Wrapped within alabaster arms the sort untold
Unwritten upon the pages burning celestial start
And brimming with heavenly gaze

I wish to know your name,
who’s existence is proof enough
That the gods play a game,
With this mortal whom they can snuff.

Who can hold such a burning gaze?
Of such azure delight
Within who’s eyes can be found a maze,
Of life held and lived so tight?

Who’s self is deemed unworthy,
In a state of living turmoil
By a broken, stupid jury
Who’s life is wrought in Grecian oil?

May I kiss those turgid lips?
And cover them with loving bliss
Scarlet petals would sinks wooden ships
And turn this cynic into piss?

Whence hidden from earthly look
I deem you rise from within your nook
And take with me this simple chance
To endure a loving, macabre dance.

And taste from within those locked lips,
The tears and licks of burning bliss.

    Provocative.

Lots to absorb. So much symbolism, but that's what poetry is all about. My heart was with you from verse one on. I'll come back and read this again.
