first day of freshman year (college)

Walking the cold stone halls filled with strangers,
trying to see around people looking for your classroom.

You finally get to class and have no idea where to sit,
in high school it use to matter, does it matter still?

The professor is scary as heck,
the class seems so complex, so hard!

Well, what do you expect?
This is college, here what you do matters, a LOT!

So many essays to write, so many books to read,
so much work to do already.

Living with a stranger in a strange room,
you just can't get comfortable with this new room mate.

The dining commons seem so crowded, so loud,
you stand there wondering where to sit, what to do.

Finally a friendly person invites you over,
you chat and soon you relax.

You made it your first day,
now you only have a million more to go!

I juse finished csixth form or well what others call college and yet I can still remember the induction day we had where I met all the possible candidates that would be joining me.I remember realising how small it was yes and at the same time how big it was and how I was the odd one out because the rest of them had gone to the same school so knew each other already. you have captured the intensity with power and it really got me thinking well done with this
