Without water

A night without the moon
suffocating enough -
to pour the much needed water
caught amongst the skies

thirsty potted plants
sway with the dry night breeze of June
Beside the garden gate
competing for the dissolved moisture

tired father take rounds
filling up the empty vessels
in the parched kitchen
with some help from mother

we sit beside and gawk,
posing to be engrossed with our books
an old song plays on the radio
and words crawl in my mind

Author notes

The above verse is bout today. A water pipeline of our society had some problem and thus there was no water throughout the day.
