that grace it's wrinkled pages
A passage of love, forbidden,
and ink smudged by acid teardrops
An illusion of hope speaks sadly,
of a man she once knew
And nights embraced by loves warmth,
now a rhapsody of blues
The years have become unkind
The heart, once young and vibrant
Now strains to maintain it's beat
As she whispers his name with reverence
Memories , as his face fades into time,
that man, who once she loved

This truely makes one think...summing it all up in the last stanza....Memories , as his face fades into time,
that man, who once she loved..Leaves a lot to consider.....

A great write Bob...but not exactly what Alix was looking for. I appreciate the entry.

"The years can become unkind". That can be true and hard to prevent. Faces fade into time, even voices do, but memories do not. Perhaps they should.
Well said, Bob.

This is so tenderly written, i got real sense of turmoil in emotions and pain bleeds from the nib of your pen, lost love hurts like hell and yet this has a fragile delicate feel to it, makes you want to give someone a hug , as it is written so smoothly and so well. Acid teardrops! Very good Bob

Yes. I understand the entire concept of professing love on a piece of paper - where no one else will read it - a love that you know is gone - forbidden, as you put it. And the idea of that person - the mere idea - provokes tears, and all alone in that room, you just let them fall - let them smear the ink which professed that love you can't seem to forget. The heart accepts all that abuse, for it's too weak to stand up to its abuser. It's amazing how one person - who really never cared all that much for you to begin with - can completely and totally ruin the wonderful life you had set up for yourself.
Great job!

Very pretty , yeah I guess it happens to all ladies but the worst part is they shut their heart.. its easier this way .. its a great piece emotions flowing with every word.
-
This is stunning. Heartfelt and emotional, it's a sad piece but described absolutely beautifully and delicately. Took my breath away and that rarely happens from any poetry.

-
Oh Bob this is filled with such sincere and beautiful emotion. Such a stunning piece. I tru;y enjoyed reading this

A question
One thing always amazed me about most women. Why is it they reject the guys with good hearts for the bastard or the knave? Just wondering
-
-
This is just awesome
it whispered tenderly to my heart
of lost love, fading time
and heartbreak.
Sigh
Just Gorgeous

dearest grand pappy this is so sweet. I loved this poem! What a beautiful poem you have written here, so raw, and full of reality. LOVE, prettypoetry

Oh Bob this is just so sad but beautiful. You have such a way with penning emotions with such tenderness and delicacy. Love it!

-
this is a moment that you have beautifully framed and hung up,
another tragic yet a lovely detailed picture, of loss.
in some ways some of your pieces remind me of rose ashes. in this case white, red or blue roses. and time and change being the wind and ashes being the person or thought or part of emotion and color being emotion
or somewhere along those lines
but in short, beautifully made piece throughly enjoyed reading it..

Beautifully sad words of forbidden love. Your use of imagery brings the words off the page and into the heart of the reader. Wonderfully written, Bob! Patricia

-
Excellent
A touching write of a forbidden love, remembered from a time gone by. All that is left is the writings in a secret book as time stretches a greater distance between their beings. A heart in decay at the memory of losing a love never bound to be. I love it. You have penned this with such sensitivity as to how the woman must feel and the private thoughts that entangle her mind. Excellent write of a broken heart yet you have kept the feelings so soft...alby

well! Bob is that what they call growing with the times?
it sure leaves a bitter pill to swallow, nice piece to think about as life can be a world of weird dreams...thanks for sharing good luck..Lin

yep...I can identify
yep, Bob, I can identify...well written and communicates the sadness that can follow. I'm sure we've all been there and you present this familiar experience well...I especially enjoy those words, "acid teardrops"-powerful!...but the key(for me) is learning how to allow this to flow within, then let go, move out of the muck and not get stuck! Life goes on and we always have choices!
-
lovely write very thought provoking, loved the ending leaves the reader pondering lovely piece well done with this one

-
Outstanding
This poem is full of sadness. You drew her character very well bringing her to life with fine detail. I liked the way you developed the theme that finally becomes universal. This is a moving poem full of emotion.

-
Sad...but it makes me wonder how many ppl have this experience. I've loved and lost, and it hurts & it's hard. However, the spice of life is finding love again), a love worth keeping.
Take care my sweet friend.

I am sure many have had this experience. But they say to love & then lose it is better then never having loved at all. I think that is true for I have never really loved any women save perhaps one -

Oh I liked this poem very much great job!

Beautifully written. A lovely touch of something every girl feels at one time. It's hard, especially when you so badly want to remember his face and over time it kind of fades away. From teenagers to elders, we find ourselves looking back more and more to what we had. Well done!

I found this poignant my friend
Delightful musings of a ladies journal ...often holding secrets to be shared only by the whispers of a gathered sob. Beautiful

-
Bob, this is such a sad piece. At least she loved and has memories. Juls
