FISHING IN SPRING
A brief rest from today’s turmoil,
lackadaisical moments for a busy man,
who watches from the bridge,
sharing a moment’s tranquillity.
I see him, as I sit in silent solitude,
fish nuzzling in shadows of my boat
teasing me – quietly nestling,
while autumn colours drift
gently past,
to inspire the artist within.

Oh my this is a very creative poem you have penned

The imagery and flow of this piece gives off a peaceful air
Wonderfully done in vivid colour and taste.

Watching him watch - I really loved that perspective in this piece. Nicely done my friend. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

thanks Pamela
I too noticed the perspective in the painting. I tried to put perspective in my poem, by mentioning the man on the bridge so the eye would look for it.
Thanks for the comment.

This is a very peaceful, restful poem. Autumn is one of my favorite months..right behind spring..and this evokes a lovely vision of the fall, and a lazy, sun-dappled day. Best to you in the contest!

Great poem and denotes the scene in the painting perfectly! I especially like it for feeling it conveys of a quiet autumn afternoon--good luck in the contest!

I have always thought of this as a peaceful painting, too. I especially like the phrase, "fish nuzzling in shadows..." A different view of the pic than I had thought of myself. The area in the forefront does seem like a place to hide out and be close but not be seen.
I get a feeling of peace in solitude from you view.
Thanks for the entry. ~ Joyce
