My friend was driving along with a friend of hers, in her Kia. Just as she normally would. She noticed the wind and horizontal rain picking up, then it ceased. She signalled and turned down another street. Then she got the creepiest feeling she should slow down, so she did. She stopped, when a pile of steel from a shed had fallen, Thunk! in the middle of the road. She and her friend get out to move the pile carefully to the side of the road, all the while her vehicle swaying side-to-side. Getting rained on in sheets by this point, they managed to move the pile to the side, far enough for her vehicle to go around it, when her friend shouted through the rain and howling wind,"Get the dog!" She shouted back,"What dog!?" she turned to her right quickly whip her head down, saw the pug, picked it up, tossed it to her friend, now in the passenger side, her friend tossed the scared pug into the back seat and she climbed into the driver's seat. It flailed and looked helpless for a few moments, confused and scared. Her friend complained, "He smells awful! He stinks!" She finally traversed carefully around the pile of steel shed roof, and kept asking those in passing if anyone was looking for a pug. They found the owner, who was relieved and thanking them profusely, no surprise, they owned the shed that the roof got ripped from.
Author notes
This is a true story. It happened last Thursday night, during three tornadoes, that ripped through our town.
This gives a whole new meaning to the cliche of "raining cats and dogs."

Dang! it stinks! was probably scared shitless lol. poor little guy ... great story telling. So many people losing homes and stuff, we rarely consider the animals.

She was very animated in her retelling of it.

I'll say this is a cliche coming true! Poor little doggie! Thank goodness your friends came by at that moment and picked up the little fella. So glad they found the owners. Thanks for this uplifting story that happened in the aftermath of hell.

Awwwww. Haahahahaha, I found this so funny. The poor little pug. Hahahah. one minute within a shed, minding her/his own business and the next, shivering, finding itself outdoors, confused, wide eyed.
Hahahah, I shouldn't laugh really, as the poor little thing could have been killed. But it is so weird that the winds took the roof and not the rest.

With sustained wind speeds of 80-95 mph, not only did it get ripped, but because of the mesocyclonic wind, it got twisted too! Oh, I forgot to mention, there was a trampoline, that flew over their heads and they watched get lifted, twisted and set back down as well. That is when she said she knew it was a tornado, and not straight-line winds, like they tried to tell us at first.
